About Japan
Tokyo and Kyoto are three hours apart on the shinkansen, which is why almost every first trip to Japan is built on those two and nothing else.
Ten nights covers Tokyo, Hakone, Kyoto and a day in Nara or Osaka without rushing. The rail pass only pays for itself if you are moving more than twice. Cherry blossom is a ten-day window that shifts by a fortnight each year and prices double inside it.
