About Maldives
Twenty-six atolls of shallow reef and white sand, where the choice that matters is which island you never leave.
Every resort occupies its own island, so the trip is decided at booking rather than on arrival. Nearer islands are reached by speedboat in under an hour; the far atolls need a seaplane, which only flies in daylight. Overwater villas are the picture, but a beach villa with direct reef access is usually the better swim.
