About Vietnam
Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City bookend a country that is far longer than it looks on a map, so the internal flights matter more than the drives.
Most first trips run north to south: Hanoi, a night on the water at Ha Long or Lan Ha, then Hoi An for the tailors and the old town, then the delta. The domestic flights are cheap and frequent, and using them is what turns a rushed fortnight into a comfortable ten nights.
