About this trip
Most Bali itineraries fail in the same way: too many stops, too much driving, and a sunset temple squeezed onto a transfer day. This one moves once, and the drive between the two bases is the only long one in the week.
Ubud first, while you are still adjusting — waterfalls, rice terraces, a proper spa afternoon and a villa with a pool that catches the morning light. Then south to the limestone cliffs, where the days get slower and the evenings get better.
The same driver stays with you all week, which turns out to matter more than any single inclusion. By day three he knows when you actually want to leave.

Day 1
Arrive Denpasar, drive up to Ubud
Met at the airport and driven north — around ninety minutes, longer in evening traffic. Check into the villa, and if there is light left, the valley terrace is the place to sit.

Day 2
Highland temples and a waterfall
An early start north to the lake temple, reached before the tour buses. Then a waterfall in the highlands, lunch at a warung with a view over the caldera, and back to Ubud by late afternoon.

Day 3
Ubud, slowly
Nothing booked before the spa. A 90-minute Balinese massage for two in an open-air pavilion in the afternoon, then dinner somewhere in town — the driver will have opinions by now.

Day 4
South to the cliffs
The one long drive of the trip, roughly two and a half hours to the Bukit peninsula. Check in, then the afternoon by the pool while the light goes long over the ocean.

Day 5
Sea temple and Jimbaran
A slow morning, then late afternoon at the cliff-edge sea temple for the kecak performance as the sun goes down. Dinner afterwards on the sand at Jimbaran Bay.

Open day
Left empty on purpose. Options: a surf lesson on a beginner break, a day pass at a cliff-edge beach club, or the pool and nothing else.

Fly home
Breakfast and a transfer to Denpasar, around forty minutes from the Bukit. Late checkout requested where the property allows it.

Before you book
Important information
- Prices are per couple on twin sharing and are indicative — final pricing is confirmed against live availability for your dates.
- Peak periods (Christmas, New Year and long weekends) carry a mandatory gala dinner supplement set by the property.
- Hotels listed are the properties we normally book. If one is unavailable we substitute a comparable alternative and tell you before you pay.
- Standard check-in is 2pm and checkout is 11am. Early check-in and late checkout are requested but never guaranteed.
- Carry a valid photo ID for every traveller. International trips need a passport valid for at least six months beyond your return date.
- Temples require shoulders and knees covered for both travellers. Sarongs are provided at the entrance to the sites on this itinerary.
- The Ubud to Uluwatu transfer takes 2–2.5 hours. We schedule it after breakfast rather than around a sightseeing stop.
- Driver hours are 8am to 8pm. Later evenings are easily arranged directly with him at a modest extra cost.
Questions about this trip
Why only two bases in seven days?
Because moving costs more than it gives. Two bases means two check-ins, one long drive and six nights actually spent in Bali rather than in a car between hotels.
Can we add the Gili Islands or Nusa Penida?
Yes. The Gilis need two extra nights to be worth the boat crossing; Nusa Penida works as an overnight rather than a day trip. We will re-quote either as an extension.
Is Uluwatu too far from the restaurants and shops?
It is quiet by design, which is the point of the second half. Seminyak is around an hour away and the driver is with you if you want an evening there.
Do we need a visa for Bali?
Indian passport holders get a 30-day visa on arrival. We recommend the online e-VOA in peak months to skip the queue at Denpasar.

Best time to visit Bali
April to October. The dry season brings warm days, low humidity and clear sunsets over the Indian Ocean. November to March is wetter but greener, with rain that usually arrives in the afternoon and clears by evening.
